I Write as Therapy: A Memoir in Poems, Essays, and Reflections is the author’s open journal. Through deeply personal poems and essays crafted over the span of a decade, the book explores thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and spiritual processes shaped by the author’s lived experience. Though written with Black women in mind, these pages remain open, inviting readers of all races, identities, and walks of life to see themselves reflected where the words resonate. Organized around therapeutic intentions, each section moves through ideas, insights, and reflections that center self-awareness, grief, body transformations, love, healing, racialized experiences, and faith. This book is an invitation for readers to explore themselves through someone else’s stories, offering space for reflection, recognition, and personal growth.
